The Georgia Bulldogs football team joined central Florida youth from various charitable organizations in the area at DisneyQuest interactive theme park for a morning filled with rides, arcade games and more.

Parking - Full Parking Information

PARKING NEAR THE STADIUM WILL SELL OUT
On game day, all Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium parking lots are reserved for permit parking only. There are a limited number of parking spaces still available through clickandpark.com or by calling 866-330-7275. No traffic will be permitted on the surrounding stadium roads on game day without pre-paid permits. Parking lots open at 7am. There will be ONE first-come, first-served public cash lot at Jones High School on game day (capacity 600), but no other public lots have availability. Fans should be advised that they are parking in private lots around the stadium AT THEIR OWN RISK. Stadium management encourages patrons to park in downtown Orlando, and utilize the FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE. Please read below shuttle information.

Shuttle - Full Shuttle Information

DOWNTOWN ORLANDO SHUTTLE INFORMATION
Shuttle buses will pick up from the Geico Garage, located directly south of the Amway Center in downtown Orlando. This shuttle site provides easy access to and from all major highways and roads.
COST: $10 to park (Geico Garage only, free shuttle to Citrus Bowl
LOCATION: Amway Center, 400 West Church Street, Orlando, FL 32801
SCHEDULE: Shuttle buses will begin running at 9am and run to and from the stadium throughout the day until 1 ½ hour after the game.
DROP-OFF: Guest drop-off and pick-up after the game, is at the intersection of Nashville Avenue and Church Street at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

ALTERNATIVE SHUTTLE INFORMATION
An alternate shuttle site will be located at the corner of Hughey Avenue and Pine Street, north of the Amway Center, for those who do not park in the Geico Garage.
COST: $15 to park in city lots and garages, free shuttle to Citrus Bowl
LOCATION: 100 South Hughey Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801
SCHEDULE: Shuttle buses will begin running at 9am and run to and from the stadium throughout the day until 1 ½ hour after the game.

PROHIBITED ITEMS
The following items are not allowed in the Florida Citrus Bowl: Outside food and/or drink, carts, strollers, tents, large backpacks, coolers, umbrellas, air horns, megaphones, lasers, fireworks, poles longer than 12", posters larger than 11"x17", unauthorized solicitation, handbills, giveaways, samplings and pets (except assistive animals).
CAMERA POLICY
Small cameras are allowed. During this event, no professional cameras and/or audio or video recording equipment will be permitted. iPads and/or tablets are prohibited.

Nebraska Gives Back At Day For Kids

The Nebraska Cornhuskers took a break from the practice fields and theme park visits this morning, spending time at the annual Capital One Bowl Day for Kids at DisneyQuest. The event connects players from both bowl teams with disabled and disadvantaged youth from all around Central Florida for a morning of fun at the Downtown Disney attraction.

"Any time you can reach out the the community and let people know you're much more than just a football player, that you're a person that really cares about your community that's a big deal," said running back Ameer Abdullah.

For safety PJ Smith, the Day for Kids is an integral part of his bowl experience.

"Giving back to the kids, giving back to the community, going out there and having fun with them, letting them know that anything is possible, putting a smile on their face - that's the main thing."

Throughout the day, whether it was playing classic arcade fare like skeeball or the latest 3D video games with the kids, it was clear that community service is a key part of the Nebraska football program. Charity work is not just a bowl week activity for the Huskers.

"As a team, we always try to get out during the summer," said Abdullah, citing the Huskers' community efforts in Lincoln over the offseason.

Community work and charity have resulted in good karma for teams during Orlando Bowl Week this year. Virginia Tech DB Antone Exum made national news for giving away his bowl gift Best Buy shopping spree for the Russell Athletic Bowl, and went on to spark the Hokies to victory with a key interception. He was named the game's MVP. Perhaps some of the good karma earned today will benefit the Huskers on Tuesday.

In Jenkins Absence, Multiple Dawgs Ready to Step Up

With starting nose tackle John Jenkins set to miss the Capital One Bowl, a number of Bulldog players are ready to step up to try and fill the void. Jenkins, a senior, was suspended from the team earlier this month for an academic issue.

“I think John Jenkins has been awesome for Georgia,” said Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt after announcing that Jenkins would miss the bowl game. “I’m really proud of everything he’s accomplished for us. Just really want to wish him the very best. He’s been a blessing for our program.”

Richt said that a small group of players will look to fill the hole in the defensive line left by the 6-3, 358 pound Jenkins.

“A little will depend on Abry Jones, and how much he can play,” said Richt. “We’ll see the type of condition he’s in and number of plays he’s available.”

Jones, a 6-3, 308-pound senior defensive end, has been hampered by an ankle injury for most of the season and has not played since the Kentucky game on Oct. 20.

“I feel like even though it’s my senior year and I missed so of it, I always want to play one more game with the fellas,” Jones said during practice on Friday. “Definitely if I feel confident enough and they let me play, I’m going to play. That’s what I want to do.”

Another Bulldog player looking to fill in for Jenkins is the one who has been doing it all year, 6-6, 355-pound junior Kwame Geathers. Kwame, bother of former University of Georgia and current Cincinnati Bengal defensive end Robert Geathers Jr, is thrilled for the challenge of filling Jenkins shoes.

“I’m excited,” Geathers said. “I wish [Jenkins] could have been here, you know as a teammate, but I’m excited to play.”

“Everything I’ve been doing this whole year is what I’m going to bring [to the Capital One Bowl],” Geathers said. “Be able to be a big impact for the team, help out anyway I could.”

Geathers understands the challenge he faces, knowing he not only has to step in for Jenkins but also try and stop Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez, a task few teams have been able to accomplish this season.

“It presents a lot of challenges when you have a quarterback like that,” Geathers said. “You have to be able to contain him, keep him in the pocket, don’t let him run as much.”

Other players who could see playing time in Jenkins absence are sophomore defensive end Ray Drew and Mike Thornton.

“It’s time for [Ray Drew] to step up and be a great player for us,”Richt said during practice on Saturday. “Ray needs to be a guy who is highly productive for us.”

Notes:

The Bulldogs Saturday starts with morning practice followed by a day at the four Disney Parks. Bulldog offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, linebacker Jarvis Jones and junior quarterback Aaron Murray are slated to attend a bowl press conference during the day.
